Marty's responsibilities include active management of the firm's equity and fixed income portfolios, and the asset allocation process. His primary focus is on the factors influencing the equity and fixed income selection process within the firm. These factors include the macroeconomic outlook and its effect on the overall financial markets and specific industries, the impact of these factors on interest rates and asset allocation decisions, and finally, a focus on individual company fundamentals.
Prior to joining Arcataur Capital, Marty performed various investment roles within the institutional investment operations of Northwestern Mutual. Over his 22 years at NM, his duties ranged from portfolio management, equity and fixed income research, and as head of equity research.y. In 2016-2017 he provided research analysis for investment grade fixed income portfolios. He was head of the domestic equity research group that assisted in portfolio decisions and investment positioning for various portfolios from 2013-2016. From 2000 to 2013 Marty managed, analyzed and recommended investments for small/mid/large capitalization portfolios, along with completing financial modeling and analyzing macro-economic data for successful investment performance. He joined Northwestern Mutual in 1995 as an equity analyst focusing on small and mid-capitalization segments of the market in various industries and sectors.
